I made this collage for a friend, and made it directly on Fabriano paper, which is crafted in Italy by the Fabriano mill. The pretty blue stamp with the “hands reaching for peace,” is referred to as the “Joint Allied Zone Dove of Peace” and was issued in 1948. (Lower denominations of the stamp were issued in 1947.) The blue/brown polka-dotted paper at the bottom of the collage comes from a little shop in Kyoto, Japan. The middle (blue) section is hand-painted paper. And the top section is Japanese paper from an antique paperback book.
